BIG AIR WORLD CUP CHUR, SWITZERLAND

21-22 October 2022

Ranking: DNS

The 2022-23 world cup season kicked off with a grand start at Big Air Chur in mid October. The jump is erected on an impressive scaffolding structure in the windy swiss valley of Graubunden, in the very east of Switzerland. This world cup is alway one I look forward to, as I get to compete in front of a very excited home crowd. Another perk of this contest is that it is combined with a music festival that assembles over 20,000 spectators, and let me tell you, the vibe is absolutely insane!

Despite a second place finish at this same event last year, I was not able to reproduce the same result this time. Unfortunately, I crashed during the first training session and sustained a concussion. After speaking to doctors on site, I made the hard decision to pull out of the contest and rest for a couple of weeks at home, in order to be ready for the next one. I was very sad to skip one of my favourite events of the season, however I am convinced I took the right decision by focusing on my recovery.
